Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
