The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
