And those who did not believe in My signs and in meeting Me, are those who have no hope of My mercy, and for them is a painful punishment. 23 So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe. 24 And [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allah, and the love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper." 25 ۞ Lot believed him, and said: 'I will migrate to my Lord; He is the Almighty, the Wise' 26 And We bestowed Ishaq and Yaqub to him, and kept the Prophethood and the Book among his descendants, and We gave him his reward in the world; and in the Hereafter he is indeed among those who deserve Our proximity. 27 And Lot, when he said to his people 'Surely you commit such indecency as never any being in all the world committed before you. 28 You approach men and waylay them on the road and commit depravities within your gatherings." But his people's only reply was, "Bring down God's punishment upon us, if what you say be true." 29 [And] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Succour Thou me against these people who spread corruption!" 30
