Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 You and whatever you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 We glorify God." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they would be helped, 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
