Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
