Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
