Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
