The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
