۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Then, are we not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
