Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Those who disbelieve and bar from the way of Allah, Allah will cause their deeds go astray. 1 And those who believe and do good works and believe in that which is revealed unto Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He riddeth them of their ill-deeds and improveth their state. 2 That is because those who disbelieve follow the falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. And thus Allah propoundeth unto mankind their similitude. 3 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. 4 Anon He shall guide them, and shall make good their state. 5 And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them (i.e. they will know their places in Paradise more than they used to know their houses in the world). 6 Believers, if you aid Allah, He will come to your aid and will plant your feet firmly. 7 But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds. 8 This is because they disliked what Allah has sent down – He has therefore squandered all their deeds. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of the believers whereas the unbelievers have none to protect them. 11
