The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He hath created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
