Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
