The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
