The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
