The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and continuous shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
