3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
