Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
