Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
