Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
