The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul of the disbeliever. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
