Believers, fight the unbelievers near you for the cause of God so that they realize your strength and know that God is with the pious ones. 123 Whenever there cometh down a sura, some of them say: "Which of you has had His faith increased by it?" Yea, those who believe,- their faith is increased and they do rejoice. 124 But to those whose hearts are sick, it adds more filth to their hearts and they die as disbelievers. 125 Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice? Yet still they do not repent, nor do they remember. 126 And whenever there comes down a Surah (chapter from the Quran), they look at one another (saying): "Does any one see you?" Then they turn away. Allah has turned their hearts (from the light) because they are a people that understand not. 127 There has come to you a Messenger of your own. Your suffering distresses him: he is deeply concerned for your welfare and full of kindness and mercy towards the believers. 128 So, if they turn away, say to them: "God is sufficient for me. There is no God but He; I depend on Him alone, the Lord of the glorious Throne." 129
