The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
