The person endowed with faith said: “My people, follow me; I shall direct you to the Path of Rectitude. 38 "O my people! This worldly life is but a brief enjoyment, whereas, behold, the life to come is the home abiding. 39 Whoso doeth an ill-deed, he will be repaid the like thereof, while whoso doeth right, whether male or female, and is a believer, (all) such will enter the Garden, where they will be nourished without stint. 40 ۞ My people, how is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the Fire; 41 You call upon me to deny God and to serve other deities about which I have no knowledge, while I call you to the Almighty, the Forgiver. 42 Assuredly, that to which you invite me has no [response to a] supplication in this world or in the Hereafter; and indeed, our return is to Allah, and indeed, the transgressors will be companions of the Fire. 43 “And soon the time will come when you will remember what I now say to you; and I entrust my tasks to Allah; indeed Allah sees the bondmen.” 44 God protected him against their evil plans and the people of the Pharaoh were struck by the most horrible torment. 45 The Fire; they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon, and on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): "Cause Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!" 46 And consider what time they will wrangle together in the Fire, and the oppressed will say unto those who were stiff-necked: verily we have been unto you a following, are ye going to avail us against a portion of the Fire? 47 Those who were proud will say, “We are all in the fire – indeed Allah has already passed the judgement among the bondmen.” 48 And those in the Fire will say to the keepers (angels) of Hell: "Call upon your Lord to lighten for us the torment for a day!" 49 They shall say, 'Did not your Messengers bring you the clear signs?' They shall say, 'Yes indeed.' They shall say, 'Then do you call!' But the calling of the unbelievers is only in error. 50
