Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
