Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
