The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night swarming, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
