The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 They sat by it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
