And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is no life beyond our life in this world: we die and we live [but once,] and we shall never be raised from the dead! 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 The Messenger said: "My Lord! Come to my help at their accusing me of lying." 39 (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 to Pharaoh and to his chiefs, but they behaved superciliously and they were haughty. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a miracle and settled them on a high land, quite secure and watered by a spring. 50
