Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 My Lord! then place me not among the wrong-doing people. 94 And verily We are Able to show thee that which We have promised them. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is fairer. We Ourselves know very well that they describe. 96 And say: 'O my Lord, I take refuge in Thee from the evil suggestions of the Satans, 97 I seek refuge in You lest they come to me." 98 Until, when death cometh unto one of them, he saith: My Lord! Send me back, 99 so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation: 102 but those whose scales are light shall forfeit their souls and live in Gehenna (Hell) for ever. 103 The fire lashes their faces and therein are shriveled lips. 104 [And God will say:] "Were not My messages conveyed unto you, and were you [not] wont to give them the lie?" 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust. 107 'Slink you into it,' He shall say, 'and do not speak to Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 Lo! I have rewarded them this day forasmuch as they were steadfast in that they, even they, are the triumphant. 111 And He will ask: 'How many years did you live on earth' 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account." 113 He shall say, 'You have tarried but a little, did you know. 114 "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?" 115 Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no Allah save Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace. 116 And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. 117 And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful." 118
