Al-Najm 3 of 3
(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
