The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
