Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
