Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
