What, are you stronger in constitution or the heaven He built? 27 He raised it high and leveled it, 28 And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. 29 And the earth! thereafter He stretched it out. 30 and brought out of it its water and its pasture, 31 And the mountains He set firm 32 [all this] as a means of livelihood for you and your animals. 33 But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.), 34 The Day when man will remember that for which he strove, 35 And the Scorch will be made apparent to any one who beholdeth. 36 So for one who rebelled, 37 And who preferred the life of the world, 38 that blazing fire will truly be the goal! 39 But he who feared to stand before his Lord, and restrained himself from evil desires, 40 Their abode will be the Garden. 41 They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? 42 Wherein art thou concerned with the declaration thereof! 43 Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof. 44 Your duty is only to warn him who fears it. 45 On the Day when they behold it, it will be as if they had lingered but an evening, or, a morning. 46
