Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
