The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 dividing the gathering. 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And is himself witness to it, 7 Surely, he is ardent in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Surely, on that Day, they will know that their Lord had full knowledge of them all. 11
