Hizb 53
< random >
Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
