Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And those that strike violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
