Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Indubitable! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
