Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 who has created you in several stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
