The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
