The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 for a great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
