The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
