S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 Now these [people] deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst - and [so] the deniers of the truth are saying: "A [mere] spellbinder is he, a liar! 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them the nations of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh, and he of the tentpegs belied, 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
