And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He wrecks them for what they have earned; and He pardons much; 34 Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no way of escape for them. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and when harmed they become victorious. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
