In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Those who disbelieve and bar from God's way, God will send their works astray. 1 But those who believe and do the right, and believe what has been revealed to Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord, will have their faults condoned by Him and their state improved. 2 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah present to the people their comparisons. 3 Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. That (is the ordinance). And if Allah willed He could have punished them (without you) but (thus it is ordained) that He may try some of you by means of others. And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain. 4 He will guide them and amend their condition 5 and He will admit them to Paradise, that He has made known to them. 6 O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. 7 As for the unbelievers, they will suffer misfortunes, and their deeds will be rendered ineffective. 8 That is because they hate the Revelation of Allah; so He has made their deeds fruitless. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled the earth and seen how those before them met their end? God destroyed them utterly: a similar fate awaits those who deny the truth. 10 That is because Allah is the Maula (Lord, Master, Helper, Protector, etc.) of those who believe, and the disbelievers have no Maula (lord, master, helper, protector, etc.). 11
