Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
