Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
