Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
