And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
